I've had my bank reject an unauthorized payment before. They credited my account pending an investigation. I don't know if that would work on an automated payment set-up but it's worth a shot to ask.
I work best or at least I accomplish more than I think I can pressed up against a hard deadline. The move will work out. Here's hoping for lots of sunshine once it's done. And cloud cover but no rain during the actual move. :)
Hang in there Moxie!!!!

Shannon

Moving sucks.

But I can't wait to see you in Chicago!

I'd also go into a storefront and see if they can refund to your debit card (if you have one) right then. I know ATT did that for me when they automatically deducted a payment twice by accident. The phone rep said it would take 10-15 days, but if I went to the store, they could do it right then if I had a debit card and they did.

Of course, that's ATT, not Verizon... but maybe if you tell them that other companies do it they could be persuaded?

Good luck with the move!

Lisa

Argh! I've been crossing my fingers for a Chicago meetup forever and we have a family event Sunday afternoon that there is NO way out of. Will anyone still be around Monday? Sob.....

Elizabeth

Sorry about verizon! I hope something gets resolved!
Good Luck with the move!
So very excited about the meet up in Chicago!!!

hedra

Ouchies. I don't have anything to beat that.

Hang in there!

Anna

It's interesting; I've kept my Verizon cell service because I have had such GOOD experiences with their customer service.

AT&T on the other hand, hours and hours on the phone listening to the same scripts. "Now, I need to to unplug the cable from your modem..." I think we figured out the first 20 times I called that it's not the f@$&ing cable! Arghhh...

Leah

*cry* I would love to do the Chicago meetup, as I LIVE here, but of course that is the busiest weekend of the year culminating in my daughter's 3rd birthday party on the afternoon of the 25th. :(

Jamie

Chicago meetup-- yah! Will try to make it. But, can probably only bring my five year old b/c the little one will be napping.

Allison

I know you're busy, so I'll repeat my question...

How useful will the Release the Yelling class be for non-parents? I want to sign up, but I don't have any kids (and I do my fair share of yelling)! I'd like to do take some preventative measures in terms of yelling, but if this is 100% child focused, then this probably isnt the best for me.

Thank you very much.

Wilhelmina

Alison,

I took the original Release the Yelling class, and although I am a parent of one I really got the most enormous benefit from the class because it unravelled how yelling ( at me) in the past, and what was yelled and my own yelling, and the circumstances under which it happens are two totaly separate things.

I had explored lots of past issues over many years, but this class really did help me uncover a lot from a totally different angle.

Which then helped me reduce the yelling I did a lot and most of all made me much more confident about myself and helped me move on and improve things.

And yes, if I had taken the class before having my daughter I would have had as much of a benefit and it would have prevented me from feeling as guilty and ashamed of yelling at my lovely little girl. Who may not sleep a lot, but is a dream come true.

I hope that answers your question somewhat.

( And Moxie! 45% is a lot, a whole lot and I am so confident you'll be just fine and packed. 100%.

Sunshine! I hope you have it for the move and honestly, sunshine flooding into your new apartment- well worth the packing ordeal.

Yes, I recently moved to get natural light into windows too. Honestly, it's wonderful. )

Wilhelmina

Allison,

Sorry about misspelling your name, proof reading would have been a good thing.

Jenn

Email the CEO. Seriously. We had to after our Fios installation got botched no less than FIVE times. The day after I emailed the CEO, and executive customer service rep called us and got it straightened out...after two more attempts. If Comcast wasn't even worse in this area I would have nothing to do with Verizon ever again. You probably won't be able to find his direct email address, but if you Google his name and the form they use for email such as firstname.lastname@company.com, you'll be able to figure it out :)

Good luck with your move tomorrow!

Allison

Thank you so much, Wilhelmina! :)

I hope to run into you at BlogHer!

I'm so sorry you've had problems with Verizon. I've been with them for 9 years and been frustrated lately as well. I will say that I've always, always, had better luck with the folks on the phone than in the stores.
