Acetone nail polish remover?

Joy

I think nail polish remover should work... I just tested it on a scrap piece of shell I have (i make jewelry), and it's fine... may tarnish the silver, though, but that should polish up without a problem. Good luck!

Acetone: The wonder solvent that dissolves wonders. I'll try it out when I get home and report back in.

I link to this site not because it has any new info (it recommends acetone, too), but because the section on what to do if you accidentally glue your lips together was disturbing, yet also a bit of a relief:

I don't think acetone will hurt the abalone, but if you're nervous, and can wait, I have a cheap bracelet with an abalone charm that I bought in NZ (where they call it paua) that I'd be willing to dunk in acetone tonight.

WARNING: Big old fatty self-promotion threadjack here, but it segues into this post, I swear.

So, in reading this post, it occurred to me how much fun it would be to have a personal blog to not only post your foibles, but also to get advice from the general public as to how to remedy them. Coincidentally, I had been working on a personal blog for a couple of days, but I wasn't sure I was going to go public with it.

But I decided I am! So if you are all bored at work or home, would you please, please, pretty please, read my blog? You can click on my name below to get to it.

I am not one of those spammer people who posts random tangential comments at the bottom of blogs I've never read, in the hopes of getting you to click on my blog and sell you some stuff. I'm not selling anything, I promise. And I comment here all the time.

This is my new blog, in case the link below doesn't work: http://boringtownsclosed.blogspot.com/

Can I just say that I'm glad for you that it was the necklace that got the KrazyGlue and not, say, an elderly cat?

Hope the acetone works! It sounds like this is an important save to make.

The natural insitinct is to look for value in tech stocks when you want to capitalize on the tech revolution, right? Wrong. The tech revolution has arguably created the most value in retail, notably the success of Wal-mart and the Walton family fortune.

As eventful and entertaining as the recent Man Utd v Chelsea match was, for http://www.bestcheapbeatsbydre.net/ me the highlight was the debut of the Nike T90 Laser IV’s. Contributing to both the http://www.cheapfootballcleatssale.org/ amazing goals and even more amazing misses, they were constantly in the thick of the action. Since that http://www.bestcheapfootballcleats.com/ eventful day an increasing amount of professionals have been seen donning Nikes newest http://www.adidassocccercleats.com/ boot release, so needless to say, when they http://www.cheapfootballbootsshop.net/ arrived today it was like Christmas had come early!

It’s nearly impossible to find educated people in this particular topic, however, you sound like you know what you’re talking about! Thanks

  • My expertise is in helping people be who they want to be, with a specialty in how being a parent fits into everything else. I like people. I like parents. I think you're doing a fantastic job. The nitty-gritty of what you do with your kids is up to you, although I'm happy to post questions here to get data points of how you could try approaching different stages, because, let's face it, this shit is hard. As for me, I have two kids who sleep through the night and can tie their own shoes. I've been a married SAHM, a married freelance WAHM, a divorcing WOHM, a divorced WOHM, and now a WAHM again. I'm not buying the Mommy Wars and I'll come sit next to you no matter how you're feeding your kid. When in doubt, follow the money trail. And don't believe the hype.
