San Antonio, Texas
I'll be in San Antonio the evenings of Monday, June 30 and Tuesday, July 1. Anyone want to meet up one of those nights? With or without kids? 6:30 or 7-ish?
This is my philosophy.
If I haven't addressed your topic yet, send me an email.
New questions post M-F at 6 am (EST), usually, with a book review up on Friday night.
Jorge Ben: Brazilian Hits & Funky Classics
This whole album full of longing and sex, saudade and soccer, is the soundtrack of my awakening.
Josh Turner: Your Man
Can't get enough of my cowboy singer.
Charlotte Brontë: Jane Eyre
How did I manage to not read this book in college? It's blowing me away right now. Jane! Mr. Rochester!
Max Beerbohm: Zuleika Dobson (Modern Library Paperbacks)
Very witty, but the references to Oxford in 1911 are going straight over my head...
Donald J. Sobol: Encyclopedia Brown Box Set
He's read almost every Encyclopedia Brown book every written, I think. We'll have to move on to The Great Brain next.
Ian Graham: The Best Book of Spaceships (The Best Book of)
He pours over this book, and will soon have all the types of spaceships memorized, I'm sure.
Kate Mcmullan: I Stink!
Ah, the obsession.
Sandra Boynton: Pajama Time!
Now all around the room in one big line, wearing our pajamas and looking so fine!

I'm in Austin and am seriously considering driving down just to hang out with you, Moxie!

Melissa, if I had any day time free I'd suggest the Schlitterbahn, which I've always wanted to go to.
Posted by: Moxie | May 14, 2008 at 11:07 AM
I'm in Austin and I wish I had the free time to drive down to San Antonio. Schlitterbahn IS really fun if you want to make the 30 minute drive. San Antonio has a great zoo/aquarium, Six Flags, Sea World and of course, the Riverwalk. Have some Tex-Mex and a margarita and enjoy your time in Texas!

If you're ever in the Milan Italy area, I'll show you around.
Posted by: paola | May 14, 2008 at 01:22 PM
Ah, yes, the Schlitterbahn. I think the last time I was by there it was undergoing renovations of some sort. I know...you're thinking, "A BETTER Schlitterbahn? With maybe even more than one waterslide?"
I'm for the innertubing on the Guadalupe, myself, although the last time I did that I got the fiercest of sunburns.
If I were back home, Moxie, we'd have a helluva time.

Wisconsin! You're coming here next, right?
(Yeah, I wish.)
Anyway, I would like to go to San Antonio just to get together. I wish could come too.
Cheese or beer, anyone?:)

Dang, i am in DC, too. So that's two of us so far -- i vote your next trip bring you here. We're just a short Acela ride away! And we have the world's greatest free museums!

I think Moxie should come down to DC for the meet up we're doing at the Zoo on May 24th!! Come on Moxie!

I'm in Houston... but perhaps I could drive to SA for a girls' evening! My husband owes me one, right?

I live in Austin and I wish you were coming here! Definitely go eat at Mi Tierra--super yummy, traditional, very-bad-for-you Tex Mex. But killer margaritas and "homemade" tortillas. Yum! Love it.

OMG. I live in Salt Lake City but I'm from San Antonio and if I had a better excuse, I would so go meet up with you!

this'll teach me to ask you when the eff you're coming to texas before i catch up on older posts. someone needs to slap me around with a large trout.
i'm so, so, so in, but i'll be driving from austin (an hour, more or less), so i'll need to engage in some back-channel coordination with you.
