Mat Johnson: Pym: A Novel
So far this book is everything. Like, everything in literature and exploration and culture all taken in and then spit back out like a serrated knife through soft butter.
Steven Gary Blank: The Four Steps to the Epiphany: Successful Strategies for Products that Win
Dense, with valuable ideas on every page.
Douglas Adams: The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Franz Babinger: Mehmed the Conqueror and His Time
Yes, he's reading this huge academic tome. A friend gave it to me, and when I handed it to my son he said, "I've heard a lot about this dude! Cool!" Nerdtastic.
Jeff Kinney: Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Book 1
He's ripping through this one.
Susan Champlin: Fight for Freedom (Cartoon Chronicles of America)

Wow, it's almost 60 days already!
I have to admit I'm not doing so well on my 3 goals - taking a two week vacation and then spending a lot of time at work for the following two weeks to catch up threw a wrench in the works! Note to self: will try to do better in the next few days!

Apparently not doing as well as I'd like, as my weight has continued to go up. ARGH.
BUT, on the plus side, I was finally told that the hiring manager will be calling me Monday or Tues next week. Though they didn't give the head hunting agency any idea if that was because they a) wanted to make me an offer, b) wanted to ask for more information, or c) wanted to tell me to stuff it in person. Or d) something else - like, they want to consider me for a later position opening not this one, or ... who knows. I hate that. Now I'm even MORE stressed. Usually bad news they'd give right off. But usually good news they'd go through the head-hunter, too. What's the deal? ARGH. Oy. Bugger. Now, to not over-eat all weekend, too. Sigh.
Exercise machine. Yeah, that'd be good right now. Like, if I managed to use it. Sigh.

Nearing the end and I just need to start over...
We, (hubby, baby and I) are walking on Sunday (5 miles) in the March for Babies, the March of Dimes fundraiser. We have exceeded our goal but if anyone would be interested in supporting us in our final push, please check out www.marchforbabies.org/onehappycow. Such a worthy cause! Now I am only praying for the weather and the kiddo to cooperate:)
This seems like the perfect venue to "kick" off another 60 days:)

wow, onehappycow, what an awesome event! we support MOD, but i haven't done the walk yet...have a great time!
hedra, that is so annoying about the job- i have been there so many times, and that damn 'what-if' time period drove me nuts. grr.
milk and supplements, check. the swelling has been fine! waking up with some based on whatever i ate the day before but so far, really so good...and the week is going to be cooler so we're looking good. my ob is at a conference for a week so i told my husband i'll be hanging upsidedown til she gets back. ha.
besides the crabbing about the name for babybean, i've been doing pretty well being extra nice to my husband. we've been spending time just relishing the threesome we are with pnut in these final weeks- it's bittersweet, you know?
well, my procrastinating the writing got a big kick in the butt yesterday when i received notice of a classmate's proposal of what is basically my own dissertation topic. i was like, augh!! i never imagined she'd be this far so fast (1 1/2 months ago she still didn't really know what her specific topic *was*- now she has a proposal done and ready to be defended? jesus effing key-rist) i let my ego get knocked down for a while, got extremely pissed off, and then decided this is just what i need to be motivate me to move faster- there is no way i am letting this woman finish hers before mine. so i'm read for the next 60 days, too!! bring it on!!

Today is 60 days. I'm halfway there. I've been taking my vitamin. I don't think that habit is going to break.
I'm still using the smaller plate for all meals - but I need to be more consistent with the veggies. I'll do 4-5 nights of good veggies - and then not do it.
Chocolate. That goal was a losing battle. I think I'm more aware of when I eat it - and how it affects me. But I'm still not that good. Oh well. 1.5 out of 3 isn't bad, is it??

This is a good article. I agree, if there is a method of saving costs then I am all for it. The last place I would have thought to notice a disease was in the eyes.
