Hey, what about some sort of internet "button" thing that people put on their blogs? So you know when you visit the blog that the person is a fan of Moxie? I've got a link to you in my blogroll, but not everyone has a blogroll nor would everyone think to look there, I guess.

Kate

So. Excited. I could use a new sweatshirt.

If you are going to do the oval with the letter(s), I suggest "MX" or "MXE"...

Oh, and just a request--in looking over the original thread it seems like a lot of the "catchphrases" are infant-centric. Don't get me wrong, those are definitely when you need the support thick and fast, but I am closer to the end than the beginning of the sleep tunnel--and I am still here. So just keep in mind the people who come here to parent their preschoolers & up when you're Zazzling.

Hooray for Moxiewear! :-)

BrooklynGirl

For people in the NYC area, we may need to have a pro Moxie rally here:

Or MXM (for Moxie Mom). It kind of looks like hugs, too, that way. (Moms hugging Moms?) I could see that in a pin logo. Hmm, using the internet code for hugs, would that be M{M} ? Or just {M} ?

pennifer

another thought that fits in best here...

is there some easy way to create a place on your website where we can organize meetups amongst ourselves? all we would need, i guess, is a place to tally locations and contact info.

hm, this makes me think of using some of the fancy "tag a map with your location" gadgets on the net.

and yes, a bumpersticker is a great idea. and a mug.

pennifer

We could use a site like this...

http://www.frappr.com/askmoxie

I just whipped that up outta nothing. It's okay if folks don't like that idea too. There might be a better system out there that allows a more systematic approach to accessing people's contact info...

Hmm, I need to get to work.

z

yes on the temporary tattoos... how about one that I can put on my forehead that says I am the parent.

Katie B.

I *like* the blog "button" idea. I don't know much about html, but they don't seem to be too complicated once you have a graphic.

hedra

@pennifer, the frappr thing is cool. Felt better being able to do the low-key location thing (state, since mine is small). So count me a test-run entry.

JB

I like this idea (and would buy stuff!) but I was thinking earlier that I have a sneaking hunch that most moms are like Moxie moms. What we should do is ask the exceptions to wear buttons. Like a "JA" in an oval to signify that they are judgy assholes. The rest of us would know each other simply by the fact that we're moms. (Or dads! Don't want to leave you all out.)

SUE

JB - i love the "JA" :-)

Pins! I'd love a pin! I'd also love a pin that a kid could wear - my daughter loves wearing pins to school, and I was recently outed politically when her teacher realized that her "I can be president" pin was actually a Hillary Clinton campaign button. :-)
maybe something like "my mom asks moxie"

a window cling would be great - I'm bumper sticker averse, but not car decorating averse.

Moxie

Hedra, maybe the logo could be some variation of lipstick on a pig...

Pennifer, thanks for the frappr site!

attiton

Moxie,

May you make enough money from this venture so that you can work wherever you like, whenever you like, without worry!!

Julie

I agree....I think this could be a nice tidy little income for Moxie. And well deserved too.

I saw on the freeway this afternoon an "M" sticker in an oval, so that one is out.

So are we adding ourselves to pennifer's site? I think that is a great idea. It's so interesting to see where everyone is from!

caramama

I told my husband that someone once suggested Moxie do a message board. and then I told him about the possiblity of selling items with her logo. He joked that she could create a whole Moxie empire!

Create the empire, Moxie!! You know, in your spare time. ;-)

Helena

'my mom asks moxie' is brilliant. I would def. get a t-shirt that said that (3T, maybe tie-died?? ha)

A meet-up would be so great! It's not easy to find parents I get along with/have anything in common in my neighborhood (and I live in the city, with literally scores of parents around).

Helena

oh my word. tie-dyed is what I meant!

Annie

I'm in favor of a pin, b/c with a bumper sticker we could smile and honk and give the gang sign but not actually talk.

Also in favor of the geographical locator.

Lisa F.

pennifer, that map is cool!

and ditto on the window cling!

Julie

I have to say....the map really helps make this community feel smaller. So many familiar names I can now place geographically in my mind. Thanks pennifer, and thanks Moxie.

I love the gang sign idea....perhaps grabbing our boob with our left hand and signing milk with our right? I like to think this could symbolize our acceptance of breastfeeding and formula feeding. Any way to turn that into a logo?

Jill

Frappr looks fun; I'm in.
I'd go for a window cling, a pin and/or a blog button. I agree with Kate, those of us past the infant stage want to be included too. Moxie is helpful for many ages and stages.

Charisse

I like the MXM idea--it says moxiemom, it somehow says a mom but not a "mom". If you know what I mean...

Lisa

Love the frappr map, but what if several of us are in the same city?

(I'm afraid I just sat on Charisse's button.)
