This weekend was surprisingly great (barring a couple of bad nights of sleep thanks to 5-month-old.) Supplements, exercise, mindful eating, all check. It is surprising how easy it is to be mindful about Easter candy when you can't taste it because of your cold. And positive self-talk, too! We'll just see if I can keep it up now that I can taste my food again...

Mommy-O

I said that I would report on my 2nd week measurement results for those who are considering buying TTapp.

I started TTapp 2 weeks ago Sunday, doing the 2 instructional exercises for the first 3 days and doing the Basic Workout with Hoedowns for the remaining days. I was a size 16 and my goal is to drop 3 clothes sizes. This means doing 10 days in a row in the beginning. I missed 1 day but was out walking for 4 hours which isn't too bad. I started the every other day schedule this past week.

I have lost 2 1/2 inches on my waist, 1 1/2 from the abdomen (at hip), and 1/4 inch off my hips. No change in thighs or calves but lost an inch off my upper arms. I attribute some of the change and lack of change to hauling around a baby that was 14lb 9oz at 2 months and who is probably close to 20 lbs now.

I am nursing an almost 4 month old so I won't bother with chest size changes. I
haven't changed my diet except to increase my veg/fruit intake for the challenge. I have had a lot of sweets, especially chocolate, and even did fast food more times than I care to admit. My plan this week is to try to follow the God made foods idea and to cut down on fast food intake. We will see what happens.

I will report again in another 2 weeks.

Well, I haven't had time to post updates for a while, but I've been plugging away here. This can be a general update as to how I've been doing.

I have to confess to letting the ball drop pretty thoroughly over the past few days. I was staying with in-laws over the Easter weekend, and MIL always gets lots of my favourite chocolate biscuits and other stuff in when I'm visiting. This time, she'd bought the most gorgeous chocolate cake as well. So, lots of mindless eating. And I ended up staying up late to have the cake after the kids were settled so that I could enjoy it in peace, so that one was out of the window. And I didn't exercise while there because there just wasn't enough space to do it - once the spare room had the travel cot and our luggage in it, there was barely enough room to pick my way across the floor, let alone lie down for the routine. Unfortunately, because I hadn't anticipated that problem in advance, I didn't exercise the night before we left, either, figuring I was busy and tired and that could be my night off for the week. So that ended up being three evenings I didn't exercise.

But, apart from that? Going well! I've been much more mindful in what I eat, and - drum rattle, trumpet fanfare - I started back at work last week and in two whole days at work I managed to avoid the biscuit tin. I've been exercising my six days out of seven apart from the two when I was away. And, although I'm still getting to bed later than I'd like, overall I've done really well at cutting out the mindless can-do-this-any-time crap that was keeping me up even later.

So - over a third of the way in, I'm overall doing well. What I'm going to do now is to try to resist the large amounts of Easter chocolate for a couple of days, which I know will help me get back on an even keel. And after that - well, after that comes the difficulty of sticking to my goals now that I'm back at work full time, busy and stressed and with that darned biscuit tin just too close. That's going to be tough, I know - but I'll just have to keep taking it one day at a time.

What happens on Easter, dietwise, is not to be spoken of. (Alhtough honestly, it wasn't all that bad.)

Did some house projects and have a spring in my step because of it.

Abdominal wheel would have snapped from the weight of post-Easter-lunch me. OK, not really, but I took a long nap instead. I needed it.

I'm did surprisingly okay yesterday.

1. Almost didn't do yoga, but then did about 15 minutes. Apparently the key is to get my hubby on board and he helps motivate me by saying the things that I know but need to hear.
2. I don't think I had any HFCS, although the pecan pie I made and eat for Easter dinner was made with Karo. It's corn syrup, but not HIGH FRUCTOSE! That's not cheating, right?
3. I have no idea if anyone brought organic fruits and veggies for Easter dinner. But the cheesecake I made was made from organic dairies (not the pecan pie). So that's something.

Mommy-O - Thanks for sharing that. I'm really impressed. I really want to get into it when I hear things like what you've said.

Have been doing the early to bed with a washed face EVERY day!!! And for the last 5 days, vitamins and veggies are onboard!!!

wealhtheow

Had a large salad for lunch today after walking around the mall for 2 hours with some mommy friends--this was dedicated walking, not window-shopping, so I'm letting it count as my exercise. I'm picking up the house a couple minutes at a time.

pnuts mama

caramama- corn syrup is different than HFCS- better than HFCS, and AWESOME when mixed w/pecans and baked as pie...mmmmmm...

drank milk (with easter candy!)and had fish oil

my husband and i had an awesome day together- just stayed home as a family and cooked easter dinner together for a change and it was lovely.

read just a little for school, but really was focusing on easter and family- i hope today is productive! agh!

I need to know about this magical TTAP that makes yuo lose inches off your waist in 2 weeks. Someone fill me in! What's involved?!

Sherry H.

1. keeping steady on dry-brushing every day.

2. not getting vitamins every single day, but a friend of mine who is a vegetarian suggests every-other day is plenty to fill in any gaps. so feeling fine about my frequency.

3. doing okay on the sit-ups every weekday, have found it sometimes necessary to use the weekends as "make-up" days, so i'm glad that opportunity was incorporated into my challenge. and actually, i've found the 20 sit-ups are getting easier, so i've added 20 reverse sit-ups (legs straight, hands braced under butt, brings lets up bending at hip).

knowing i have a chance to check-in and get inspiration from everyone else's goals helps to keep things positive for me.

now i need to get myself to yoga (bonus challenge!)

SUE

t-tapp - yaay! I'm about to do BWO+ I'm trying to do a 14 day bootcamp alternating between TW and BWO+ I've finally started to see results on my abdomen (1/2 inch lost)

kitchen cleaning - doing alright.

sex - not so much. husband has a cold and is generally grumpy and stressed out. But I give myself points for actually initiating a conversation about how we've been interacting (him: crabby, critical, heavy sighs all around, me: sullen, unmotivated) without picking a fight. it actually even resulted in us being sincerely nice to each other this morning. And frankly, sometimes that's better than sex.

I have been doing well with my water intake. 64 + oz. daily although I find it more difficult on weekends/holidays becasue I am such a creature of habit. The whole "me time" part od my challenge is...well...challenging. I am really trying but sometimes the work that I'm NOT doing while I'md doing something for myself is causing more anxiety than just DOING it. Ah, the dichotomy of mommyhood...
The sex part of my challenge has been a complete bust. I can't figure it out. I'm sending the signals and even being pretty brazen but the only sex we're having is initiated by me. I know my hubby is trying to be respectful of my body issues/low libido by not being a maniac all the time but what does a girl need to do to get thrown on the bed every now and then?
I've also added the hfcs thing to my challenge. I was mindful about it before but now it is a real focus...so far so good. I guess we aren't big processed food eaters because I haven't found many items that we eat that include hfcs. I did throw away all the jams and jellies in the house because all but the polaner brand (even my expensive gourmet ones) had hfcs!!

Isabel Marant really knows methods to often be new, cool, and also carefree this specific makes clear uggs for what reason the girl could quite possibly please let a few of her favorite designs prefer Lana along with Debra Shaw, Sasha Pivovarova, Daria Werbowy, Carmen Kass, Lily Donaldson, as well as Karmen Pedaru move like they catwalk when it comes to awesome Marant efforts.
