I'm slowly feeling better. And let me tell you what helped*: Rachel's Yogurt, and Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe.
Rachel's Yogurt comes in a bunch of delicious flavors, such as pomegranate-acai, vanilla chai, and pineapple-passionfruit-mango. It's got a nice texture, no artificial sweeteners, and a full range of probiotics (not just lactobifilus). It's also DHA-fortified. And delicious. Creamy and cool and so delicious, especially when it feels like there are angry wasps buzzing around in your head.
Have you seen Dirty Jobs yet? It's this disgusting-yet-compelling show on Discovery in which Mike Rowe, former opera singer, goes and works for a day with someone who has a messy job. He does things like tanning hides, sorting garbage, harvesting bloodworms from muck, shearing alpacas, cleaning owl poop out of owl-houses, and a whole bunch of other really gross things. If you have a 5-year-old, you should probably be watching this show. What will keep you hooked in is Mike Rowe, who doesn't seem like much the first time you watch the show, but he grows on you episode by episode, until you find yourself having some rather untoward dreams about him in your feverish state.
* Besides the ibuprofen my office manager gave me. In his defense, it was Free Lunch Day at work and he wanted me to feel good enough to enjoy it. And be able to survive my post-lunch conference call.
Mike Rowe, yummy! And the show is interesting to boot.
Glad you are on the mend.

You hit the nail on the head about Dirty Jobs. My 5yo daughter LOVES the show. (When we see any vehicle covered with mud, she asks "is that a Dirty Jobs truck?") Mike Rowe's not so bad either, so it's fun for the whole family.
Your yogurt sounds divine. Glad it's helping your recovery.

Glad you are feeling better--that vanilla chai yogurt sounds amazing. I found out that it's kosher, so now I'm dying to know where to find it--do you think Fairway has it?

Love Mike Rowe, no idea he was a former opera singer. It's usually on at 10pm at our house which is a bit late so we don't often get to watch.

I love Dirty Jobs. When I had my second daughter last Winter, there was a dirty jobs marathon on the television and I was so amped after the birth I couldn't sleep and I said up all night and watched it with my husband. When he went home to be with our oldest, Mike Rowe kept me company while I nursed and cuddled the baby.

Sarah.. I think we watched the same Marathon... right around Christmas we had a week old baby and we spent many many hours watching dirty jobs and keeping our sanity relatively intact.
I like Mike Rowe, because I think he genuinely appreciates what the people with the dirty jobs do. To my knowledge, the show concept was his idea.
Moxie, feel better.

Glad you're starting to feel better! I also love Dirty Jobs and Mike Rowe. Former opera singer? I had no idea. I've had some interesting dreams about him too. Heh.

A five year old? If you have a husband I can't imagine you're not already subjected to every Dirty Jobs marathon ever.
I like the show, don't get me wrong, it's just reruns I could live without.
Mike Rowe managed to hit exactly the right note (ooh! opera singer pun!) between dirty frat guy humor and dignified. Example: Did you see the wine barrel episode? 'And this is the bung hole?' *beat* 'And this would be ... the bung, of course'
He cracks. me. up.
Hope you continue to feel better, Moxie.

I'm with Jan on this one! I definately dont have a 5 year old (or any kids for that matter), but I can't live with out Dirty Jobs!
I've definately seen all the episodes! (yay tivo!)

Love that show! It's one of the few shows where even the re-runs make me laugh! I love his humor!
Glad you're feeling better.

Opera singer? No way- so cool. If you need more Mike, remember he narrates Deadliest Catch and about a dozen other Discovery specials. I will NEVER forget the tanning episode. The Dirtiest job I've ever seen. I think Mike agreed.
Glad you're feeling better, Moxie!

Hee on Mike Rowe. There is just something about him, isn't there? If you get a chance to see the You-Spoof-Discovery show, you must see that. He hosts it, natch.
Yogurt: you had me at vanilla chai. Now I must. find. some. of. this. yogurt.

Did anyone ever see Mike Rowe on a Saturday morning show called "Worst Case Scenario"? I don't know if it was meant to be the TV version of the ever-popular book and board game, but that's how I learned all sorts of cool disaster-related stuff that I hope I will never need to implement. Also, here in Maryland, he's in some commercials special to our viewing area, like Epic Pharmacy, and he hosted one of those awful weekend Home Showcase things. I'm assuming the Epic and Showcase gigs were pre-Dirty Jobs...

Ack! More importantly, feel better soon, Moxie! :)

Chiming in for Mike Rowe. Didn't know about the opera gig either... but I love watching him on Dirty Jobs and listening to him narrate Deadliest Catch. He's a natural at "speaking" on his feet.
Feel better, Moxie!

Wow, I've been slammed at work all week. Saw Mike Rowe on the Daily Show once but will have to check out the Dirty Jobs show sometime.
Feel better fast, Moxie!

Kate - yup, Fairway (uptown) has Rachel's yogurt. In the organic dairy section.

Did you see the Dirty Jobs where he worked in a vet clinic/groomer? He had to express a dog's anal glands and got squirted -- I thought he would boot right there. That, and the fact that they were blurring out the dogs' wangs while they were being groomed was enough to put me off that show.
