I hope that wherever you are today, you are with people who love you, respect you, and want only the best for you.
This is my philosophy.
Search my archives on the upper left side of the screen. If I haven't addressed your topic yet, send me an email. I get 12-15 questions a day, so yours may not go up on the site, and since I have other jobs I may not answer privately, either. Someday...
New questions post M-F at 6 am (EST), usually, with a book review up on Friday night.
Marjane Satrapi: Persepolis: The Story of a Childhood
A fascinating graphic novel about being a child in Iran when the shah fell.
Charlotte Brontë: Jane Eyre
How did I manage to not read this book in college? It's blowing me away right now. Jane! Mr. Rochester!
Darby Conley: Loserpalooza: A Get Fuzzy Treasury (Get Fuzzy Tresury)
His love for Get Fuzzy is kind of hilarious.
Donald J. Sobol: Encyclopedia Brown Box Set
He's read almost every Encyclopedia Brown book every written, I think. We'll have to move on to The Great Brain next.
Maurice Sendak: In the Night Kitchen (Caldecott Collection)
Best book ever.
Kate Mcmullan: I Stink!
Ah, the obsession.

Happy Holidays! I am new to your site - and I really enjoy it. I wanted to comment on cleaning bath toys. I like to put them in the dishwasher on the sterilize cycle. I *think* it helps get rid of the gunk.

May this year be one that brings you increasing measures of peace, Moxie.
We looked around us this Christmas, and said 'hey, this is the worst Christmas we'll have! WOOO!' - two year old twins, no further kids planned or likely, and it just gets better from here. (I'm putting my fingers in my ears and singing LA LA LA LA LA about the whole teenage years thing, though! LOL!). We're expecting that next year will be not so much scrambling, not so much mishmash of dealing with this and that, trying to make things work due to the ages of our kids. So, this is the low point, and for that, we're glad. (And we had fun, too. Despite the 'parenting trifecta' we had on Christmas day at the in-law's house - Rowan peed on their floor, Meriel puked on their floor, and Brendan had blowout diarrhea on their floor. Whee. And a merry day was had by all! LOL!)

(greater love hath no mother than she spend the evening of Christmas day scrubbing diarrhea out of her son's favorite cowboy boots - the ones with the multiple cutout layers of leather - with a toothbrush. Greater love hath no father than that he only just briefly mention that the toothbrush put to such use was his.)
