I suggest clicking on my name and going to that website. It is a Q&A on how to clean your flat screen TV. It talks a lot about avoiding scratches. But people have posted questions about different TV screen-related topics. It's worth a shot.
You could try gizmodo too.

I live in constant fear of this very situation. I haven't enacted the gate idea, but I'm very close.

First I'd try some Pledge and a good microfibre cloth or chamois. Pledge fills in small scratches. If that doesn't work, then the scratches will probably have to be buffed out (plastic polish like Mcguires or Novus) but I'd do more research or consult a professional first.

If you want to prevent such things from happening, you can get a thin piece of clear or non-glare plexi cut to the size of your tv, and velcro it to the front. I used to work in a plastic shop and we sold tons of these. Less drastic than the babygate route, IMO.

Your article is very emotional, simple style, see you are a very simple person, we are very optimistic about you.

In your situation I'd probably call up the local TV repair store (the local guy, not the big box retailer) and see if he laughs when you explain the problem or not.

  • My expertise is in helping people be who they want to be, with a specialty in how being a parent fits into everything else. I like people. I like parents. I think you're doing a fantastic job. The nitty-gritty of what you do with your kids is up to you, although I'm happy to post questions here to get data points of how you could try approaching different stages, because, let's face it, this shit is hard. As for me, I have two kids who sleep through the night and can tie their own shoes. I've been a married SAHM, a married freelance WAHM, a divorcing WOHM, a divorced WOHM, and now a WAHM again. I'm not buying the Mommy Wars and I'll come sit next to you no matter how you're feeding your kid. When in doubt, follow the money trail. And don't believe the hype.
