i am a PCOS mama who had breastfeeding issues and mildly hypoplastic breasts. breast hypoplasia IS linked to PCOS and the inability of some PCOS mothers to exclusively breastfeed.

if you really want to find out what's at the root of your problems, PCOS or otherwise, i suggest that you see an endocrinologist (not a reproductive endocrinologist, the regular kind who treats patients with osteoperosis, diabetes, etc.). a regular FP, and even some OB/GYNs, won't know too much about PCOS and its related maladies unless they have had experience with PCOS patients in the past.

here are two links, the first one is an article on PCOS and breastfeeding, which mainly confirms that you're not crazy, this is a problem for other mothers, too, and the second is a bit of my story about my struggle to breastfeed, detailing what we did (and what i tried) during the first year or so:

as soon as CX was eating enough solids, right at the one-year mark, we ditched the bottles and he ate solids and nursed up until this past december (he was 19 months at the time).

good luck!

Ditto for me with the PCOS and lack of breast milk production (no change in pg, no leaking, no let down etc..) My youngest is 22 months now, and is probably our last baby, but it really pisses me off. Info on PCOS is a little easier to come by now than 10 yrs ago. But why are there so many Dr's that have NO CLUE about PCOS or if they do they don't mention this little "side effect". (can you tell I blogged about this today? I'm still fuming!)
