Well I for one am glad you mentioned the bedtime routine, because I guess I didn't realize it was supposed to start so long before bedtime, and I think that's what's been throwing us off some nights. Food for thought.

Question - we usually only do a bath every 2-3 days. Should I at least dunk him in the tub every night to keep the routine, or just start with the next step (jammies/teeth) like I've been doing?

I don't think it matters. A bath helped calm El Chico down, so we did it every night. But if you don't have the energy to do it every night, don't bother.

We've recently discovered that we can, without fail, put Helena to sleep by wearing her in the sling.

It has become the clincher of our new routine at night. We can't bathe Helena every night because it's so dry in Chicago. We're already fighting the scaly skin on her little baby legs as it is. But we're incorporating the regularity, and it seems to be working.

Either that or she simply outgrew it.

Thanks for the advice.
